During the 2010s, Rotterdam harvested a small but dynamic music scene. In this period, bands such as Rats on Rafts, The Sweet Release of Death and Lewsberg have upheld a unique ethos and personality. The Dutch port city’s underground scene offered a tight network of outsiders, so it’s only fitting its story was to be told by one. Rotterdam Goddamn: an outsider’s testimony is a collection of personal stories from the nine years music journalist Jasper Willems spent skulking across Rotterdam’s scenes and venues.
